Pro-D Day Babysitting & Stay Safe Courses – January 12
Need something productive for your child on the January 12 Pro-D Day? We’re offering two excellent courses right here at Oppenheimer:
  • Stay Safe Course: $50
  • Babysitting Course: $70
Register now through Munch-a-Lunch → Fundraisers.
Important: We need at least 20 students per course or we’ll have to cancel.
Please spread the word in our Oppy community! At the end of November, we’ll open registration to Douglas and Kingsford Smith students.

Babysitting Course Overview:
The Babysitting course is designed for children ages 11-15 (our grade 6 and 7 students). This course teaches young caregivers how to safely look after children of all ages- from babies to school-age kids- while also preparing them to handle emergencies, manage common behavioural challenges, and create engaging activities. It includes guidance on
staying safe when home alone, dealing with unexpected visitors or phone calls, and starting a babysitting business with tools like resumes and business cards.

Stay Safe Course Overview:
The Stay Safe course is designed for children ages 9-13 (our grade 4 and 5 students). This course is primarily geared toward teaching students how to stay safe when they are home alone. The program is designed to give children basic first aid knowledge and awareness and show them their role in the emergency medical services (EMS) system. Participants learn about being safe when they are without the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult, both at home and in their communities. Students will learn and practice doing first aid on each other during this fun,
interactive class.

To register, please go to Munch-a-Lunch and register under the fundraiser tab.
