We realize that there are a lot of paper forms that go home with students. Please note that throughout the year, any PAC related notice will be printed on yellow paper. This avoids confusion in determine if the event is a school event or a PAC event. We'll do our best to keep you informed.
Community Potluck and Talent Night!
On Friday, February 1st from 6 to 8pm there is a chance to share a meal, try a variety of new foods and get to know other families from the school. Bring a meal that you would serve to your family along with plates, cutlery and cups. PAC will provide the tables, chairs, napkins and drinks. Sign-up will happen in January so be sure to read the PAC bulletin board for more details. Seats are limited at 220 spots. Also, if you are one of the lucky ones signed up to attend, you will get a chance to showcase your talent that evening . Sign-up will happen at the event, but there will be limited spots. Be sure to arrive at 6 to claim your spot!
Penticton Organic Apple Sale
The Grad Committee is having an apple fundraiser with Certified Organic Apples from Penticton and are selling them at $5/2.5 pound bag. Pre-order forms have already been sent home. Sale happens Feb 4th and Feb 5 that the front of the office from 8:45-9:15am & 2:45-3:15pm
Direct Drive Donation Receipts will be Sent Home
Thank you, for supporting the Direct Drive. Your generosity brings enrichment and resources to the students. Receipts will be sent home in February. Please check your child’s backpack.
Family Movie Night – Feb 21st 6:30-8:30pm
PAC would like to invite Oppenheimer families on Thursday Feb 21st starting at 6:30, in the gym, to a movie night featuring Small Foot! Admission is FREE!
There will be a concession selling refreshments and treats. So grab a blanket or a lawn chair and bring your family to the school gym for an evening at the movie!
Three Stones Clothing and Grad Fundraiser
Three Stones Clothing is having a sample sale. Overstock and samples for sale at discounted prices. Women’s coats, jackets, sweaters and tops available in a variety of sizes. 25% of sales will be donated to Grade 7 Grads

Pink Shirt Day
Did you know that Pink Shirt day started in Nova Scotia in 2007. When a male student wore a pink shirt on school on his first of day and was then bullied for it. Two of his class mates bought 50 pink shirts to give to their fellow students. In doing this, they sent a powerful message of solidarity to the bully. Since that day, many countries worldwide celebrate it. Wear your pink shirt on February 28th to show your stance against bullying.
Spring Fair 2019 – Planning Begins – Call for Volunteers
Date for Spring Fair 2019 has been set for Friday, May 24. Planning has started and we seek a wide range of talents to help make this year’s fair another success. This year, in particular, we are in need of a parent who has skills managing food concession and preferably have Food Safe certification. As with all volunteer positions, you will be supported by the entire group of volunteers. If you are interested in helping with planning or coordinating with the Fair, or have some ideas you would like to share to make our Fair more fun and exciting than ever, we would love to have you join our committee. Spring Clothing Drive
Did you end up with more stuff over the holidays and don’t know what to do? Consider giving them to PAC and PAC will turn your unwanted items into money and resources for the students. New clothing, household items, toys, etc. will be gladly accepted for the silent auction and raffles at our annual Spring Fair. We can accept new items at any time of the year. Simply email us for drop off arrangement. For used items, please hold onto them until our next clothing and houseware drive collection in April.
A reminder to parents that our Grad fundraiser via FlipGive is ongoing and your continued support is appreciated. While you shop for items you need online, FlipGive provides us a percentage of your purchase at no additional cost to you. Please save and donate your empties to the Grade 7s. Bring your bags of empties on the following dates to the front to the school, where the Grade 7s will help to load them into a truck, so then can be taken in for a return. All funds raised from the bottle drives will be used towards the annual Grade 7 Camp and Graduation Day

Hot lunch dates will be up on Munch a lunch December 15th. A reminder that order cutoff dates for Pizza and Subway are 7 days prior to the lunch date and Popcorn orders require 14 days advance. Where possible, please place all your orders in one transaction, as that reduces the transaction fees, which means more funds are saved for our students. Thanks!
Our school PAC is set up with Munch-a-Lunch where parents can order Pizza, Subway, Sushi and Kernels Popcorn on-line. Family accounts from last year remain active. Returning parents can simply log on, update their teacher/classroom information for each of their children and then order as you did before. New families to Oppenheimer can click on the green icon and follow the step by step instruction to set up an account. Our lunch program provides a break to the parents and offers a nutritious lunch option that the students enjoy. Funds raised from our lunch program goes towards the students by way of enhancing resources for the school. Thank you.

Have you returned your CASL form?
Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (‘CASL’) came into effect on July 1, 2014. This means the PAC will require your permission and consent to send you emails, electronic newsletters, etc. In order for you to receive PAC information via email, please complete your form and return it to your child’s classroom teacher as soon as possible.
